绕口令（ TONGUE TWISTER ） 在民间广为流传，经过反复的创作、提炼、升华而成，是群众集体智慧的结晶，各民族语言中都有。她也是一种语言游戏，既有故事性、又有趣味性。绕口令还是一种语言技巧，将声、韵、调较易混淆的词句，编成一句或一段话。有些绕口令说起来比平时的语言顺口，但是如果不注意，说起来容易“ 走调”，这对我们说口语是一个小小的挑战，同时也是练好口语的一种方法。
对于学习英语的人来说，练说英文绕口令，无论是为练习口齿的伶俐还是为了解英语语言的特点，都是一个极好的素材。说绕口令，关键是既要说得流利，又要吐字清楚，一气呵成。做到反复数遍而不出错误，尽量一口气说完，这样可培养英语语感。
