　　The Suzhou Art & Design Technology Institute is one of the best Art Schools of Jiangsu province, approved by the Ministry of Education of PRC and the government of Jiangsu province. We offer first-class opportunities and facilities for study and research, and a stimulating working environment. With virtue of the Wuzhong Regional Culture, the long education tradition of Arts and Crafts design and more than 85 years of arts education practice, the exciting range of Departments span the Visual Transmission Department, Ornament Art Department, Fashion Design Department, Environmental Art Design Department, Industrial Art Design Department, Digital Art Department , Foreign Languages Department, Social Science Department , Sports Science Department . While other art schools tend to be polarized between traditional and more technological directions, we have found a way to integrate them and see their mutual and interactive value. While traditional areas of practice such as drawing, painting, and sculpture remain the constant foundation of artistic expression, new media and digital communication are quickly becoming the most widespread visual language in the world. In response to this expansion and in looking to the future, we have focused our energies on combining traditional aesthetic considerations with contemporary design.
　　For the past ten years, we have built up a long-term cooperation relationship with the Ministry of Education of France, One of the most successful projects is Sino-French Jiangsu Fashion Design Training Center . We communicate and cooperate with different schools of Art from all over the world not only at students and teachers exchange level but in development and research field. We welcome all sorts of communications at different levels and in different fields. Our aim is to hone creativity within a warm, vibrant atmosphere to provide our students with the best chance of success. Here at the suzhou Art & Design Technology Institute, we are acutely aware of our responsibility to make sure all the students get the help, guide and support needed to ensure their success both with study and future career. Our teaching approaches are designed to introduce you to studio –based and theoretical practice.
　　The Institute has a distinguished heritage that can be traced back to the creation of the Suzhou school of Art in 1922. The growth and development of the school over the past 84 years is as follows: 1922, the Suzhou school of Art was founded by Mr. Yan weiliang, an outstanding oil painter and a remarkable art educator .in 1932, Located in ChangLang Pavilion scenic region , the school was developed into a collage, renamed the Suzhou collage of Art, and Later, On August, 1958,the Suzhou collage of Art was renamed the Suzhou collage of Fine Arts. In 2000,the Suzhou light Industrial vocation university joined the school and formed a new school known as Suzhou Art & Design Technology Institute . Later in 2006, it outgrew its central city location and was relocated to the site now known as the Lake Shihu campus.

　　We currently have nearly 5000 students and 350 staff based across two campuses in lake Shihu scenic region and No 288, Tiger Hill Road .
